The Southern University Museum of Art Shreveport (SUMAS) provides school guided and self-guided tours and programs that bring the African and African American experience to life through interactive exhibits, storytelling and arts activities designed for learners of all ages. School tours are available for public schools, charter schools, homeschools, colleges and universities. Our tour focuses on the curriculum areas of social studies, fine arts, literary arts, English and language arts.
Guided and self-guided tours are available for school groups. Admission is FREE and requires scheduled bookings 3-7 days in advance. SUMAS also partners with other museums in downtown Shreveport. Please advise if your school wishes to visit other museums during a scheduled field trip.
Educational special programs including interactive exhibits, select storytelling and arts activities are scheduled throughout the year for school groups. A nominal per person fee may be required. Scheduled bookings 1-2 weeks in advance may be required.
